The Rotary 28th Annual Hot Air Balloon Rally was dedicated to the memory of Gil Bleckmann.

Gil's vision of what the Balloon Rally should be embodied the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self".  Gil was adamant that the Rally should be more than just a fundraiser for the worthwhile projects of Rotary -- that it should also benefit the town and its organizations.

Although we miss Gil's presence, what a wonderful legacy he has left in Pittsfield by his guidance in the founding and sustaining of the Rotary Club's Hot Air Balloon Rally.
